Employee burnout has become one of the most pressing management challenges of 2021. The pandemic has significantly increased chronic stress and anxiety levels by blurring the lines between work and personal life. At the same time, the pandemic has also lifted the curtain on concerning mental health statistics and forced business leaders to actively acknowledge and address this topic.
At Kyan Health, we believe that the human cost of poor mental health is incalculable and that employers should play a key role in minimizing this cost. Research shows that effective mental wellbeing programs come with an ROI of 4 to 1, so we also believe that businesses have a vested interest in addressing their employees’ mental wellbeing as a key lever to improve corporate performance.
Unfortunately, most corporate mental health and wellbeing services are ineffective at scale. They either offer reactive solutions for acute crisis situations (e.g., employee assistance programs) or do little to address real root causes for employee distress (e.g., meditation, coaching, or employee engagement apps). General management and HR managers are becoming more and more swamped by the sheer number of services, solutions, and apps claiming to help their employees’ (mental) wellbeing – yet have not found the one solution providing corporate mental wellbeing support under one roof.
Kyan Health is the first Swiss digital health company providing end-to-end, fully personalized, evidence-based mental wellbeing & health solutions for employees and their families to live healthier and happier lives.
We decided to launch Kyan Health after our own direct experiences with mental health challenges in the workplace and after witnessing the shortcomings of existing solutions and the devastating effects of poor mental health on individuals, families, and organizations.
Kyan Health’s mission is to unlock the true potential of individuals by creating a frictionless experience when accessing and engaging with mental health and wellbeing support services at work – from employee engagement and awareness creation over self-improvement and self-care to coaching and counseling.
We have raised a CHF 1.5m pre-seed financing round to make this mission a reality. This investment will allow us to strengthen the Kyan Health network of certified therapists and coaches, to fine tune our app and to scale our self-care programs to cover anxiety, depression and other common workplace mental health challenges as well build our skill-and coaching building offering.
With our successful pre-seed financing round, we reach another exciting milestone on our Kyan Health journey and we could not be happier to welcome our new partners, including our lead-investor Wingman Ventures and our strategic angel investors.
We are getting ready to change the way mental health is delivered in the workplace as of Summer 2021. If you want to see what this could mean for your organization, sign-up for a free demo here.
